Rules for fishing on the water included under the fishing permit

Water governed by the permit

The fishing permit gives access to angling on Skanderborg Angling Associations water, located in Skanderborg Sø, Lille sø (Henning Sø), Døjsø, Svanesø (Sortesø) and Vrold Vestermose. Maps can be found via the association’s homepage (Sandarten.dk).

At Skanderborg Lake and Lille Sø, it is allowed to fish by boat and from selected places on the bank.

At Svaneø, Døjsø and Vrold Vestermose you may fish from the bank, but not by boat.

It is the responsibility of the individual angler to keep within the water allowed under the permit.

Fishing within 100 meters of public beaches designated for bathing and swimming is not allowed.

Methods

The permit only gives access to the use of common rod or pole. Leaving fishing equipment while fishing is not allowed. Only baits and lures intended to hook the fish in its mouth may be applied.

If prebaiting, the total use of feed may not exceed 0,5 kg per day per angler. Fishing contests are not allowed, unless a specific written permission by the Angling Association is issued.

Prebaiting is prohibited in Vrold Vestermose, Døjsø and Svanesø due to environmental considerations.

The legislative rules on closed seasons and size limits must be adhered to. Further to this, the specific local rules for Skanderborg Angling Associations waters also apply.

Fishing permit

Kids and young people under the age of 18 are allowed to fish the waters of Skanderborg Angling Association without paying any fee or license.

All other anglers must be members of Skanderborg Angling Association or have purchased a specific permit for the water held by Skanderborg Angling Association.

Potential surplus profits from the sale of fishing permits will be used for initiatives aimed at enhancing the population of fish in Skanderborg Lake and its tributaries, maintenance of fishing grounds, communication, restoring spawning streams, and initiatives that may improve the environment and accessibility in general.

All aged 18 to 68 must hold a valid national fishing license, in addition to their local permit or membership.

General behavior

Avoid damaging rushes and reeds, also if landing at the shore by boat.

Please keep your distance to larger flocks of birds resting on the lakes, as these should not be disturbed unnecessary. Take a detour or select other fishing grounds, leaving the birds alone to rest and eat.

It is recommended to release all predatory fish unharmed, as these have a positive impact on the environmental condition of the lakes. All fish that are taken from the lake must be used for human consumption within the anglers household.

All fish must be handled with care and respect. Please consider and practice relevant fish care.

If fish are taken for food, they must be euthanized as humanely as possible, and without undue delay.

It is not allowed to gut or clean fish in the vicinity of trails, pathways or public areas and structures.

Please keep your area of angling as tidy as possible at all times, and do not leave equipment scattered, nor should your activity hinder traffic on public trails or pathways.

Any anglers shall remove associated garbage and take relevant considerations towards other users.

Directions and instructions from the association's fisheries supervisors must be promptly followed and are not open for discussion. The fisheries supervisors act on behalf of the association and, thereby, in the interest of the community.

Violating these rules may result in immediate expulsion without refund of paid fishing license and fee, and can also result in prolonged quarantine from Skanderborg Angling Association's fishing waters.

About these rules:

This set of rules has been agreed and issued by the Skanderborg Angling Association's board, taking into account the special conditions that apply to parts of the association's fishing waters. The rules are intended to protect fish stocks and enhance future angling potential. Failure to comply with these rules or display of bad behavior by anglers in general may ultimately cost the association access to parts of the fishing water. If you are in doubt about the rules, contact the association before starting your session. If you want to seek influence on these rules, then join the association and suggest your changes to the board for further consideration.
